Walmart in Stoney Creek in Eastgate Mall is moving Jan 27 to down the road to the new Supercentre (the biggest one in Ontario). So since the move a lot of items are discounted 50% percent off and they still have some Xmas stuff on sale too. I was there today and they had a lot of good sales but the store was quite bare because of the move.

So the move is finally happening. Some years ago, a career counsellor who knew the mall area well was aware that the Walmart would be moving out. Watch and see what happens with the mall-unless the place scores a new store of some fame, the Fortino's alone won't be enough of a draw.

This is going to be so great. I hate not being able to price match items that are only available at supercentres.

Isn't there already a Winners in Eastgate? And are you saying this Walmart is going to be the biggest in Ontario - or is the Supercenter the biggest? Where is this Supercenter?

Yay! A Winners! We shop at that Fortinos often, but never had much reason to go into the mall (not wal-mart shoppers for various reasons.) Looking forward to it

According to WM officials the Stoney Creek Super Centre will be the store and all new super centres will be like that one. It will be in the biggest one in Ontario and it even might be the biggest one in Canada. I have been in it and the layout is totally different than other super centres and when it opens Jan 27 the deals will be amazing.
Workers at Eastgate Mall say that they are going to make a pathway between the centre of Walmart and two box stores on either side. So far Old Navy is trying to get it and Winners.Last edited by anastasia1009; Sun, Jan 8th, 2012 at 08:29 PM.

The new store will be next to Home Depot, on Centennial Parkway.
