How much do you spend on groceries?

For the month of October
$156.81 on groceries (for 2) which includes hygiene stuff if needed and the feeding of 3 cats.
$327.16 saved that consisted of coupons, GC's, points & redemptions etc.

Don't get discouraged....just keep working at it. For those new to couponing, remember that often it isn't worth using a coupon. Just because you have a coupon for an item, that doesn't mean you are getting a good deal.... also check the prices of other brands. Key is to check sales flyers, make a list and stick to it.

Grocery grand total for the month of November (just food) $296.91...very happy with this.

I've found that since we started shopping at Cash & Carry our bill has gone down quite a bit! With Sparky eating wet food only, we go through a LOT of ziplocks. But, they have 100 bags (bigger than ziplocks, and can be knotted) for 2$.

Papertowel is 5$ for a stack thats half as tall as me. Granted, it's not in a fancy roll (made to fit in paper towel commercial dispensers, kinda like overgrown napkin dispensers) but it's cheap.

Even their Eco Friendly Bamboo papertowels are cheaper than 'regular' at walmart or wherever. And they're SOOOOOOOOOO thick, so you wont even use as much. (seriously, think like..5-6 ply)

about $800 for 3 kids, a vegetarian, a dog on a real food diet and 3 kitty cats....includes all cleaning and toiletries.

$64.01 grocery total including some HBA items for the month of November.

My goal is $20 for december. Lets see if we can do it!

Our grocery bill is nuts....around $700 a month for 2 people! How is that even possible?

Really need it cut it back. All lentils and rice diet, here we come...lol

surely that includes health and beauty items, fast food/resturants and maybe pet supplies? Or is it just strictly grocery store food?

It includes some non-grocery stuff (toilet paper, kleenex, dishwasher soap, hand soap, cleaning supplies, body wash, etc.) but most other health and beauty items we'd get at the drugstore so often not counted in that total. Doesn't include restaurants or pet supplies either; separate budgets for each of those. On the bright side we've cut way back on eating out...we're down to once or twice a month now. We're just still buying too much packaged crap at the grocery store.

ETA - we've got a vegan and a celiac in the house so any packaged food we do buy is way more expensive, but we could still live without it!

Can I ask what you are cooking the dog? Curious as I have two and we spend a small fortune on dog food!

The most basic way we save money is by making a list before heading to the grocery store and sticking to it :-)

do you have a garden and some animals for eggs and milk....does it include only food or toilettry and papers, etc....? just curious on how you can do it ?

Only includes food and milk/juice. We do have a vegetable garden and freeze beans, corn, carrots, beets, zucchini, and can pickles. My parents also have an apple and pear tree so we make apple sauce, can pears and make pear juice, as well as pick blackberries and mix that with the pears for juice.

I can't begin to tell you how much you save by growing some of your own food if you are able. Even starting with patio tomato plants and going on from there would help to put a dent in the grocery bill. We don't have any animals but friends have chickens and give us all the eggs we can use so that helps a great deal as well because I do all our own baking (bread, buns as well).
