You can never go wrong with Bacon wrapped water chestnuts!
I beleive bacon is on sale this week at no frills (although not positive)
Here is how I make them (I know people have different recipes)
Cut your bacon slices in half
wrap each half of a bacon slice around a whole water chestnut and secure with a toothpick.
Bake in the oven at 350 for about 30 minutes (i put mine on one of those backing racks so the fat drips down and they get nice and crispy
Take them out of the oven
I use dianas sauce original and just pour it over them and pop back in the oven just to warm up the sauce.
This can deffinetly be made ahead of time, just cook the bacon and waterchestnuts and then store them in the fridge, then on the day of your party put them in a casserole dish pour the sauce over and reheat!
Some people make this with a soy sauce and garlic marinade I'm sure if you google it you can find that recipe.
I find alot of different recipes on pinterest and they are usually ones that someone has tried and liked enough to pass them along.

Make a veggie platter (celery, cucumber, green and red peppers, broccoli florets or whatever is on sale) with sour cream and onion (use soup mix) dip and fruit platter (grapes, apples, kiwi, strawberries, pineapple, cantalope or whatever is on sale) with vanilla yogurt dip (mix in a dollop of jam to flavour it).

Here's one that I do regularly. Takes some large tortillas, spread with light cream cheese, top with a few spoonfuls of salsa, top with shredded cheese. Roll them up, and if you have time, put them in the fridge like that for awhile (they'll stay together better if they can chill rolled up). Before serving, slice them up (thick or thin, your choice). You'll have little pinwheels that look and taste great!

Usually around this time of year RCSS has their appetizers on sale to get rid of the extra stock from Xmas. I have seen their mini wellingtons (they are so awesome) and their cheese appetizer kits for less than 1/2 price. Just look for the yellow prices, then you know they are on sale.

For 150 people and a 6 hour party, I would plan on about 8-10 pieces per person. Of course, it also depends on the time of the party. If it is around dinner time, then that is a good number. The other thing is to use "fillers" like different dips (spinach, artichoke etc) with cut up baguettes. Those are more filling than regular appetizers and they can go a long way!
