stop smoking free in BC

Not sure if it's available in other provinces or if it's already been posted but I just found out yesterday that the Prov of BC will allow anyone with BC medical a free 12 week prescription for the patch or gum and even some qualify for the prescription pills.. All you have to do is call 811 and tell them you are interested in the BC smoking Cessation program.. Just need your bc care card and you got it!
you can have them mailed to you or pick up at any pharmacy!!

Yup in Started last year the end of Sept . I used the program.
Warning for others though , its easier for them to mail the patches or gum to you , it only takes a few days and alot of the pharmacys its a pain in the butt to get them they have either run out or just plain confused .

I'm always amazed at how progressive minded the province of BC is. Hope other provinces can follow the good example and get onboard too.

Ontario has free patches, gum, losenges if you are in a family health team (participating family helath teams). If you receive Ontario Drug Benefits or are over 65, Champix and Zyban are free once per year, but some people can't use these pills I heard.

Ontario has free counselling with pharmacists too.

Also, persons with mental health disabilities can receive free patches, gum and inhaler from specified mental health facilities (not sure what that means).

As far as I know, some employers offer $500 or some amount of patches/gums for employees to quit smoking. You can check with your human resources office.

got mine today!! I am now three days smoke free!! loving it. I had the sample from facebook and used those for the last three days! I sure hope I can stick with it this time.. been smoking for 25 years!!! yikes that thought just made me sick!!
