Seriously Wagjag? Today there is a deal that would cost at least $40. Tickets to see the Wizard of Oz play in Toronto...but you can't even buy them through Wagjag. You have to get an access code through Wagjag and then buy it on the theatre website. Every time Wagjag has sold tickets, you have been able to buy them directly through Wagjag, none of this nonsense. I'm guessing it is a way to prevent people from using Telus credits. Unbelievable Wagjag. http://www.wagjag.com/?w=100106&c=1
I think we should all voice our displeasure over taking this credit away from us. I realize you can still use it but how many deals over $40 have interested us? I have left a comment on their Facebook page and maybe if we all voiced our dislike they might change it back? Just a thought...
Agreed. Tell TELUS too.
Couple of weeks ago Wagjag sent me customer survey(to know how they are doing)
They asked what do i like the most about Wagjag? My answer was: $10 credit from Telus
And what i dislike the most about Wagjag?... You can guess my answer: New rules for my $10 credit.
Left my comment on their Facebook page as well
to be honest , im really not surprised they upped the purchase limit, it sucks yes but think about how much money they were losing.
Espec with the $10,$12, $15 deals wagjag is famous for.
Say if 500 members are telus members and have the credit and all of those 500 members use their credit to get something ''free'' thats $5000 that they lost.
Financially it makes tons of sense.. sure theres going to be upset customers, but i guess they care more about making money than losing money and a few customers.
jmho.
Wagjag signs agreements with the vendors that say Wagjag gets a percentage of all sales. This is how it really makes money. It most likely made money from the Telus deal.
It is in Wagjag's best interest to sell as many deals as possible so they can get their vendors more sales (and themselves a bigger commission).
Telus gives Wagjag the $10, regardless of how much money people spend.
- So if I buy something that is $10, Telus gives Wagjag $10 (or something close to it).
- If I buy something that costs $30, Wagjag gets $10 from Telus and $20 from me.
-Wagjag still collects $30 total
So why should they care where the $ comes from as long as they get it? Especially when they are making commission from the vendors?
Or maybe Wagjag is trying to make more money by forcing people to buy more expensive deals so they can get bigger commissions. But they're assuming their number of sales will stay the same...it won't.
Wonder if the change had to do with vendors of cheap deals complaining about being flooded with too many customers that they couldn't handle? (see page 2 of this article) http://money.ca.msn.com/savings-debt...r-conditions-5. But if this is the case, vendors should just put a maximum number of deals on sale and when they sell out, they sell out.
i agree, wagjag is getting $ from telus (whom eats your phone time away on pay as you go for the record) so that parts irrelevant in my opinion.
Besides wagjag hardly had anything worth spending over $10 posted in the first place so i wasn't even useing my credit up 98% of the time and i bet a ton of .other people weren't either. Who can honestly say wagjag ever had deals every month? Mine usually went to complete waste.
Then again I didn't buy just because i had a free $10 wagjag credit and say something was $15, i'm not going to pay the extra $5 unless i actually need/want it...i don't have a credit card so i am safe here, lol. But I find there is a fine line in frugaling where as sometimes I think somethings a good deal and I am not so sure i actually 'need' it but because i have coupon/credit i am going to buy it...tends to happen a lot in my case but i've backed off a bit, lol.
I hope people complain and they change it back.
I got my last (most likely) Wagjag deal delievered today. It was that garden hose. Now if only we could get some appropriate weather so I could try it out!
There have been lots of deals on Wagjag that have been sold out so I don't see that was the issue. I would think a vendor would be thrilled to unload all the goods they wanted to sell. I always assumed Wagjag got the $10 from Telus so what was it to them if you bought something for $10 or $50? I did end up doing the impulse purchases like facial and manicures because I was able to get them for prices like $15 after using the Telus credit. Now I won't pay $25 even though its still a good deal, now its the principle of the thing.
Someone I know contacted Wagjag to ask about placing an offer recently and they wanted 50% of the list price.
We pay Telus a few hundred each month for one phone, so I'm positive that they get enough from us.
I only looked into this deal four months ago and have purchased something every single month. I won't be checking those deals as regularly now.
You mean Wagjag wanted 50% commission of the list price?!?!?
!!!!!!!!
Surprised anyone lists at that rate. I wonder if the terms were changed because vendors complained that people were using Telus credits simply to get something for free and then were not becoming repeat customers? Why should vendors give Wagjag 50% of the fee for no repeat business?
Now I can see why Groupon and Teambuy always have better offers.Wonder what their commissions are.
Did anyone else get the Xhose deal? I am pretty sure it said it would expand to 75ft but the one I received only expands to 25 ft.
