I live in a small town, and don't see many couponers. Though I have been seeing an increase in them, there is still only a few that I have come across. Today at my local WM, I went down the isle of air freshners (which I always do to see if I can catch a good deal) and there were 8-10 people there, each with a cart....all together. They each had their carts full of Lysol products. WM has (select) Lysol products rollbacked to $2 and Rexall has a $2 coupon out for 3(?) different Lysol products (which are the same ones rollbacked). They cleared out every single product that was $2. My friend works there, and as I was standing in line, she told me that she alone scanned 136 of them (in seperate transactions) and it wasn't just her that they went to, because I saw them in other lines. I had forgotten about my milk, and went back and thought I would look to see if there were even one left on the shelve to use my one coupon on, and there were none. They also had a ton of travel sized items with them. My friend told me, they have been clearing them out all week of the travel sized items.
Just irked me because I heard them talking and they were going to the Rexall's in town (we have two in close range, and one 20 mins away) and grabbing all the flyers, leaving none behind, and using all of those coupons to get free Lysol.
I'm all for a deal, but this is too much IMO.This thread is currently associated with: Pharmaplus, Rexall PharmaPlusLast edited by leda; Fri, Feb 10th, 2012 at 01:30 PM.

It is too much, I agree.
Though you said it was 8-10 people. At least it wasn't just one.
I've seen many brags where people buy 10-20 of an item to use up coupons. There's nothing wrong with that. I don't like that they're trying to get more on top of what they already got though.
20 items x 10 people = 200 products.
It's very easy to "clear a shelf" when you're that many.
Did you try and ask them for one item?

If I see a bunch of ppl milling around an item in a store. darn tootin im going to squeeze myself in there and politely ask 'good deal ladies?'... normally i get oh ya.. blah blah and they tell me about it.. 99% of the time someone will ask me did you want some or do you have a coupon.. Leda, could they be buying these items for an organization or a charity? Do you know if these were for individual use at their own homes?

It is easy to clear a shelf when it's that many, but I would rather one person clearing out the shelves, then 10 people who are together, because it was just chaos. I didn't ask them. They were yelling about to one another, and I wasn't going to try and get a word in. Figured I'll be in WM again this week, I'll try and pick one up then. It's nothing I needed, so it wasn't a big deal. One of them was saying that they need to stock the shelf when she's done and that someone else was taking some on her. It gave me the impression that it was all for her except a few for her mother.
It was crazy! And I couldn't even get my cart in the isle, so I just left.
I didn't specifically ask, but I heard them saying that this was for them, and that was for their mom.
If it were for charity, I don't know if they would take every flyer from every Rexall and leave none behind for anyone else.

it is still unfair.
how is their organization or charity in any way more entitled than the hardworking families in that area?
anyone who claims to be clearing shelves for charity is just spewing hooey.
there is nothing charitable about being greedy. so many of them just get off on the high they get when others ooh and aah and pat them on the back. they want the attention.
there is nothing charitable about not considering your neighbors' needs as well.
many ppl are silent around their peers about not being able to afford things, it doesn't make them less deserving. In 2020 I had 100 FREE Grocery pickups! Subscribe to PC Optimum Insiders & get 25,000 PC Optimum pts
