Crochet or Knitting??

Ok, not really coupon related but I will tell a story first and then ask the question!!

So I was at the bargain shop in Barrie Wellington plaza before they closed...eons ago! And I saw these really cute bags with blankets in them and I thought meh for 5 bucks I will get them because the dogs were in desperate need of some blankies! Anyway I got one that the picture said had cute boats and one with flowers! Very cute, anyway I got them home and put them away and went back to college and really just forgot about them entirely. I opened them up several months ago thinking oh those are really cute lets put them out for the dogs...anyway it turns out the bag had a crochet hook and yarn! Yup, they wanted me to make them myself LOL!

So I thought...meh no biggie cause I work in a retirement home and I'm sure someone there will teach me! Ya right, the only ones that even still remember (most say, oh hunny with the price of clothes now I haven't done that in years) LOL! they say their eye sight is too horrible to teach me. And I of course don't want to push them since they are the sweetest group of people and I don't want to be a bother!

So...is anyone here a crocheter (sp?) or a knitter??? I would really love to get together and learn this craft and then I would be happy to get together once a week or even once a month (whatever you wish) so we can chat coupons and crochet/knit together! I know, it sounds weird but hey...my dogs want blankets LOL! Oh, and I really would like to make sweaters for myself! I am a big girl and I want nice flowing sweaters that didn't cost me 100 dollars in a specialty store!

I would love to learn if you are willing to teach! Please let me know!
