Thread: Amazon Mechanical Turk

Amazon Mechanical Turk is a marketplace for work that requires human intelligence. The Mechanical Turk service gives businesses access to a diverse, on-demand, scalable workforce and gives workers a selection of thousands of tasks to complete whenever it's convenient.
The Amazon Mechanical Turk web service gives developers a programmable interface to a network of humans to solve these kinds of problems and incorporate this human intelligence into their applications. There is also a web site which allows non-developers to place work into the system via an internet browser.
As a Mechanical Turk Worker you:
- Can work from home
- Choose your own work hours
- Get paid for doing good work
When a Requester approves a task, Amazon Mechanical Turk automatically deposits money into the Amazon.com account of the individual who completed the task. The account holder can choose to have this money transferred to their U.S. personal bank account or to their Amazon.com account where they can use it to pay for purchases.

***To those of you who are familiar with the Swagbucks tasks, you also can earn money directly from amazon.. They have the same tasks and pay off .12 cents per task submitted.. Value of tasks range from .01 to $5 or $10, kinds of task include taking a survey, choosing the best among several photographs of a storefront, writing product descriptions, or identifying performers on music CDs... I just tried this this morning so I really don't know if this is a good one.. If there are others here who have tried this before, please provide some feedbacks.. Thanks..This thread is currently associated with: Amazon.ca & Amazon.com, Via Rail

i really dunno..
but mine do get credited after hours and to appear in my account too.. i stick with the low paying ones and stay off the ones which requires you to sign up in a site.. i suggest you try the easy ones from Dolores Labs and also easy transcription by Gabriel Parent.. they're worth .05 but they're most likely to get credited..

Signed up yesterday, did a few HITs, logged in this morning, saw that i'd had earned $0.21.
Not bad, but alot of time and hassle searching for easy things for $0.21.
I might take the occasional look here and there to see if there are any really easy ones, like the one where you find someones email contact, that was pretty good for $0.10 a time, but did take a while to find one, so i just stuck with doing one for the time being.
Shame we can't post the answers to those sorts of questions eh, then we'd all be raking in hand over fist.Last edited by kirkeastment; Sat, Mar 13th, 2010 at 09:44 AM.

Can you sign up even if you don't have PayPal?
Can you just redeem your points/earnings directly for Amazon gift cards?
