Oven rant
After my washer, now its my oven that broke  Why do they make disposable appliances. DH will take a look at it, that promisses to take a while  I'm still waiting on him to paint the housse ummm going on 6 months now... thank god he stove top is still working!
So No Cake for you! I was going to make apple cake and german bread for the meeting :bawling:
-
awww I know everything is disposable now unless you pay through the nose and even then :(
-
Aw, that's terrible!
My oven broke last June. Just got it fixed in time for Christmas. :/
If you have a toaster oven, it will help immensely.
-
Isn't that frustrating? I remember when I was a kid, the appliances we had lasted over 20 years. And if they broke it was still worth fixing. Now it can cost as much to fix as to buy a new one. Hopefully yours is a simple fix! Maybe just an element or something easy like that. And I hear ya on waiting for the husband to get to the "To Do" list. My ex was so bad for that. If I reminded him once every couple months then I was "nagging" lol.
-
Hopefully it's just the element, which is easy to replace.
-
No such luck for the element, that he tried!
-
fuse? tripped breaker? power cord end might need replacing? broken or burned wires?
Ahem, I'm not an electrician, just married to one, LOL!
We've been through all of this.
Mind you, the 'funniest' emergency call he ever went on was over to my older sister's place. She was freaking because neither stove nor oven were working, and it was relatively new.
She is a most intelligent woman, who was mortified to find out that the plug had wiggled loose - good thing my husband had only checked the oven element before checking for that!
Darned good thing she was family so there was no charge for that evening call!

:lolsign:
Priceless !
Fuses are ok!
-
I read somewhere most appliances last you 10 years if you are lucky
-
If this is 10 years I will start saving money for that... lol
All my appliance are close or more to 10 years old now !!!
-
Oh my!! You have my total support on this. Please knock on wood, hopefully my oven is still good to go! that' why I refused to give up my old stove..it had to be a least 30yrs old!!! (the only reason I gave it away was because the front glass of the oven was crack, but everything was working fine...and BF won the argument saying it was a safety hazard for our DD!) Hopefully the stove we have will last another 10 yrs!
-
My appliances are 15 years old....if YOU AND ME is right, well over the hill.
-
All my applliances are 12 yr and are breaking at the exact same rate i got them
