I had (normal) postpartum bleeding for several weeks after giving birth. I got my period back while breastfeeding at about 9 months (both times). Ironically my delivery doctor told me that breastfeeding is a good form of birth control which it is NOT (I'm a nurse plus I know several people who got pregnant while breastfeeding).

I got mine 15/16 months after having DD. She was exclusively BF on demand, and still BF's a couple times at night even now (at 2yo). I read that often your monthly coming back has to do with night weaning.. but it really is different for everyone!
