There's a large population of people who live in the middle of nowhere that like to sit outside all day, drinking beer, and selling worms by the side of the road. The mullet is the only hairstyle that will fit under a baseball cap and not look any different when they take it off. With the cap brim shielding their face from the sun, they need the mullet in the back to protect their necks from getting too red. Makes perfect logical sense. At least, that's what I like to tell myself every time we go for a visit through hill country.

They call me the "city gurl" because I won't wear their caps with the light attached to the front and absolutely will not be outside in bare feet. And then they all laugh....at me. Multiply that by a few decades and I think that's why I dislike country music so much.
