I think my niece is a little bit too much spoil:
Since she "graduated" for kindergarden and had a good report, my sister and her hubby ask her want she want because they were very proud of her. My niece is an animal lover and her parents forgot to say that the "thing" shouldn't breath or pee (because they are not very big fan of any animals), so she told them that she wanted a "rongeur" (? don't know the english word for it) but wasn't sure which one. So last Friday, I went with her and her mom to the petshop to see want she wanted (just see because Dad wanted to be there went they will buy it). She saw a blue rat, a guinea pig, a hamster and a couple of others pets. On our way back, I ask her if she has decided what she want.
Her: "Well I guess I will take the drawf hamster and when he's gonna die, I will take a guinea pig."
Me: "Don't you think you should started by having one before decide to kill him?!"
"Hum, maybe..."
"Since you are a big girl now, are you gonna take care of cleaning the cage?"
"Eurk! Of course not! That's daddy job!"
I went today and saw the new addition to the family. He's a little cutie! Here's Max:Hi! I'm a shopaholic... hum no, scratch that, I'm a dealaholic!!!

Oh Patty, that reminds me of the first time I went to Parc Safari with the boyfriend. I spent hours peeling and cutting up veggies ... I made crudités for them. When the boyfriend showed up he couldn't stop laughing at me. I learned my lesson, Just buy the veggies and leave them in the bags. Do nothing with them. If you come across a big carrot, break it in half with your arms. No need to peel or chop anything ... unless you really want to spoil the animals.
Patty, let me know if you're allowed to feed the animals in the Passerel ... black bears and monkeys. Last year they were all on diets. The boyfriend and I lugged 10 lbs of onions (monkeys love onions), and we weren't allowed to feed them.

2 years ago I saw Barred owl when I was going to my compost in the backyard...
Probably was sitting close to my compost because rodents are in area of my compost!
(I prefered rodents in my compost than in the house... )Liberty of one finish where liberty of the other one start

Actually i quarter the apples so they go farther and the carrots I got this time would choke a horse, normally I don't cut them up. I slice them very thin for the fallow deer in the walk about area. They tend to choke on the bigger pieces.
We have been going for the last 5 years or so and we have never been allowed to feed the bears or monkeys. I think that is a constant but I will check and let you know.
