Nice kitchen Patty! And I love the blinds/drapes you have on the patio door. I'm looking into something like that for my 2 kitchen windows.

They are from IKEA the track I got is 110" and i used 4 x 24" panels. You can choose all different ypes of materials for the panels, they come in rolls and you have to put them together yourself, like everything at ikea it takes a lot of patience lol

I know, when you have a house it never ends, I have been planning it for over 3 years. I bought things wheni saw them on sale and kept everything inthe garage. FInally started in late february. Demolition was the worst, all the hidden faults that had to deal with when you take stuff apart

It will be worth it in the end and then on to the next one.

first wall we demolish was an impulse between christmas and january first of the first year in our house!!!
    I never regret that move!

Now the kitchen/dining room is the same piece in the house and we have much more space than before.

But we had nothing (not a 3 years planning), but we have tested alot of disposition for our "îlot de cuisine" (not sure of traduction for that) by using an "as is" IKEA dishwasher unit modified by ourself (we never use it as dishwasher unit, we just put drawer on that module because there was no drawer at all in the kitchen of the house we bought and it was fitting in the too small spot for our fridge... so fridge was at an other random place in the dinning room)...

Because we have some curved wall in our house, it was good to test disposition first before doing something permanent.

I was not having more than that when I bough my house!

The kitchen was what is called "lab kitchen" you know the small piece where you are alone with yourself to do stuff and no place to have someone else. Impossible to have fun and chat with hubby, kids or friends at home.

Floor was like 2X4 feet, oven close to the sink, sink close to dishwasher, no room for fridge!!!

Impossible to open dishwasher if oven was open and vice versa!!!

The demolition of the wall and un-useful too small pantry was a so good impulse!!!

Since that time we have build an other pantry in an area close to the dining room section. This is where I put my mason jar because I don't have basement in my house.

Love what you did Patty. You actually have more counter space than we do.

Great job on the kitchen Patty! I have zero talent when it comes to decorating, usually copy something I see in a magazine.
