Super_e, if you're have the dependability as person #1 and the efficiency (although you clean up perfectly after your shift) of person #2, you could come work with me .

On the subject of Borax, went looking for bug spray for my indoor plants at CT last week and there were sprays for spiders, not for little red spiders but for big spiders. If I have that many spiders in my house, I'm heading for the hills. Can you say arachnaphobia?

I have those teeny red spider sometimes, they bite like heck.

We have spiders almost everyday in the house. I don't mind, but DH does not like them.

Did you know the average person in his lifetime will eat 8 spiders in his sleep.

Don't know about the tiny red ones... but all the big ones I find indoors now get carried out to the vegetable garden instead of killing them.

Ontest, the third photo down, I can't remember the name of the spider (but I should!) but it's the one that usualy is found in wood piles (and houses )? Their webs/nests are like tunnels? I got bit by one on the hip 2 years ago. I ended up in the hospital because I was allergic to it. Scared the hell out of me .

Snuff, thanks, I like to think that I'm a good mix of both.

At my work last week they got rid of #1. #2, who used to do that job in the past but had changed positions several months earlier, went back to their old job. Everyone was really happy, there is now a competent person doing the job. And then last night #2 called in sick .. after only being back at the position for 4 days!!!. Oy. The person who had to work a double shift was not happy. He had plans with his family that he had to cancel. I think he was more pi$$ed because he knows this is going to be a regular thing, he's going to be stuck working doubles with no notice.

The yellow one (pic 6) in raspberry is Argiope aurantia and this is a very common spider.
pic 1 and 3 show dolomedes who is very common in wood because of the humidity.
pic 2 and 4 show a female Araneus sp
pic 5 and 7 show a male Araneus sp
