Monkees star dies at 65
Davy Jones, Manchester-born lead singer with 60s band The Monkees, has died aged 65, his publicist has confirmed.
He died in his sleep at his home in Florida. His publicist, Deborah Robicheau, said he had a massive heart attack.
The band, who included musicians Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork, were famous for hits including Daydream Believer and I'm a Believer.
The Monkees were an American pop band, assembled in 1966.This thread is currently associated with: N/A

Davy Jones of the Monkees has died of an apparent heart attack aged 66. The singer had been on a solo tour this month and had complained of chest pains the previous evening and was admitted to a hospital in Stuart Florida.
Jones was born in Manchester, England and started acting as a child, though he got his big break in 1965 when he joined The Monkees. The group had a hugely successful television series, and a slew of hit songs in the late 1960s. At their peak in 1967 they sold more records than the Beatles.

I just read my email news and saw this too. So sad, I always had a crush on him, who didn't? I wonder how close all the other members of his band were lately? I am sure they are so saddened by this news. The tiniest guy in the group, and had such a smile!
