We have 2X 4ft trees. The one I did all up nice and everything and then at the end of the season I grabbed it by the top and put it in my moms basement. This year all I have to do is garland and ornament it.

Our purple fiberoptic one I got last year on clearance for like $11. I'm just going to throw some pink baubbles on it.

I agree though, no one ever visits and if it weren't for me Mr.Grinch DH would never put up a tree.

I love winter and Christmas! It's the only season and time I wait for every year!! I can honestly say I plan for it all year. My fiancée and I put up our tree and decorations on the evening of Nov. 1st!! We tend to take everything down a week after New years. I'm especially excited this year because we purchased a new tree at Canadian tire after last christmas on clearance for $120.00 (original price was over $300.00). It's a beautiful 7ft tree completely covered in snow!

We normally put the tree up the 1st Saturday of December and it generally comes down completely (lol) around mid-January, however, this year I would like to put the tree really early like early to mid November but I don't know if DH will be on board.

I was driving the other day and brainstorming at the same time (yikes) anyways about Christmas gifts etc....and I hope this is original or maybe I seen it somewhere who knows as my memory is bad at times.

SO here it goes a candy dish or nice coffee mug filled with chocolates kisses with a tag that says,

"may this Christmas be filled with kisses"

Ohh this thread got very busy very quickly! The nip in the air is turning everyone into holiday mode.

I have two trees, and they go up november 12th. I try to wait until after remembrance day. But if I can't, because of work schedule or something, I do it when I can.

I have one fake tree, and I am demanding my father take me out to the bush with our little christmas tree permit to hack ourselves down a good one. I climbed our 70-degree angle hill in the backyard (IN A SNOWSTORM) last year to hack one down off our own property. I had to chuck it over the bear fence back into the yard and crawl under like an army man. Have you ever tried to climb/descend a hill that steep that's covered in snow with a christmas tree and two hacksaws? It's not fun nor easy!

BUT ANYWAYS, I want the real one to be my martha stewart tree. I'll be decking it all out beautifully. The fake one is our memento tree, the tree full of all our salt dough ornaments and reminders of christmases past.

Ours stay up until somebody gets so sick of looking at them they take them down. It could stay up til valentine's day for all I care. They're usually still up by my birthday (january 18).

All you need more or less is borax and pipecleaners! Apparently they're not so pretty after a year but you could easily make them and chuck them once the season's over. Older kids could bend them into all sorts of shapes, like around a cookie cutter to get the shape.

We aren't putting up a tree this year. Decided to go stay/see with family for christmas. I am not spending $140 for a tree when we won't be here on christmas day.

Bad news is "santa" has to bring down all the gifts with him on the plane (or buy them there when we get there) just to turn around and bring 'em back with us on the plane!

Insane, here in BC you are allowed to cut a tree for free from crown land. Check to see if your province has a similar law.
