Thank you everyone! I will try saline next time and if needed, the hydrasense too. I would not hesitate to sick boogers out of her nose but thank goodness we have hospitals where they can suction infants who need it.

The only one that's ever worked for us is the NoseFrida ('The Snot Sucker')

    http://www.fridababy.com/shop/nosefrida/

You can find them at baby boutique type stores, one in Vancouver is 'Baby's World'

I use some saline spray and then the NoseFrida to suck out the gunk, works like a charm!

    Don't think so. lol

I usually leave his boogies, but we have electric heat in our townhouse so it gets very very dry. Sometimes DS makes snorting sounds when he's breathing or he snores (which he never does) so that's when I know it's time to suck those boogers out.

Sometimes the boogers interfere with breastfeeding--she rubs her nose constantly during a feed, and then gets out of breath. Believe me, I would rather not have to distress her with the process.

I am going to sound like I should win "Bad mother of the year" for this, but....when it is a dry hard booger, I let him cry it out .... literally, he cries and the booger comes popping out.

We've got the Safety 1st battery operated one, and it SUCKS!! DS HATES it and won't let me go anywhere near his nose with it. One thing I've noticed recently is that they come out in the pool like crazy!! Not sure if it's the chlorine or the humidity in the pool room.

And the reason you have to suck out the snot is because they can't breathe properly when drinking, so they won't drink as much and become dehydrated.

I used both! Thought the sucker was pretty gross so it took long before I even tried it, regretted not trying before hand. The pear thing was cr*p and was impossible to wash :S
