on a more serious side for a change, i just heard a twister touched down somewhere in oshawa. i'm looking out the window here in brooklin and it's sunny with no sign of any weather problems...it's hot & muggy, but that's it.
i just hope everyone's ok and there's no damage to homes or businesses. you know there was a time when i'd joke about the "shwa", but since moving to Durham i love oshawa and actually stick up for it in t.o. and defend the gm workers at all costs. i'm a unionized worker and i buy canadian cars only(for everything else i really try).

latest off the Q is: the news of oshawa's tornado is not true. it is the town of Durham(west of t.o.).
sorry if i caused any upset for the good people here on the Q thread that live or have family in durham's pearl, oshawa.
Andy also mentioned there may be a fatality as a result of the tornado in the town of Durham.
sorry.
that's exactly who i was thinking of!Last edited by putt; Thu, Aug 20th, 2009 at 06:26 PM. Reason: Michelem

That was a scary thought.
There is unsettled weather that is upon us. Be safe and careful everyone.

"As you are aware the downturn in the economy is having a significant impact on our business...I regret to notify you that your employment with (insert name here) will be terminated effectively August 21 2009"
I have become the lastest casualty to the economy.
on a brighter note i did get to hear the 4:15 word as i was heading out the parking lot - Plant as in Robert

I'm the Mississauga Michele and it's like the end of the world out there. I hope the Oshawa Michele is okay because there is a tornado warning for York-Durham.
Got drenched inside my apartment trying to close the window. Went on the balcony for 5 seconds to protect stuff and it was like I had a shower - can't see out the window because of rain and wind - very loud thunder, lightening, cat under the bed.
Hope everyone is safe and not on the roads.
