I found it interesting that every DJ that worked at Jack used to work at Q107.

Yeah, I liked Jeff & Carly at both Q and Jack. Nice to have Kim Mitchell take their place.

I also liked Samantha Stevens, who took over for Joane Wilder on her last maternity leave. Samantha has an awesome voice and personality. I was so happy to listen to her on JACK. Don't get me wrong, I love Joane Wilder too. She has an evervescent sounding voice, a real pick-me-up.

Also, remember Jeff Chalmers? He was also a Q DJ before he went to Y108, then JACK after that. He was pretty cool on Q, but he started sounding a little fruity on JACK. Plus he couldn't compete with Derrigner in the Morning.

The other DJ on JACK, Mike Tyler... I have no idea where he came from, but I heard the name before.

Yeah, JACK-FM was trying so hard to be like Q107. They took Qs DJs. They played similar music. They were pretty blatant about converting Q listeners over to JACK. And the kicker was they took Q's old slogan, Toronto's Best Rock and changed it a little to Toronto's Best Rock Variety.

The thing that was really a drag about JACK packing it in, was that I was sitting on lots of wasted JACK Nation points, which were hard earned (harder to collect that Q points). At the very end, they had a draw for $10,000.00, and everyone who had JACK Nation points were all competing for that one prize.

I think Mike Tyler came from Y108 or 97.7 or both. I really did Like Carly on the air in the afternoon. I really did like Jeff and her on Q and even when she was partnered with Kim they seem to do alright by me. I don't believe that Kim has the "stuff" to do the show by himself. He is not bad but I just feel he could benefit from a partner, someone to keep the conversations rolling.

btw, what actually happened to jack? i very seldomly tuned in and i've only heard people comment about them being gone....did they turn out the lights, or just change their flavour of music?
