Morning all. At least we have sun, even if summer seems to be finally gone (still hoping it will resurface, but I'm an eternal optimist).
Here's the 10:15am - arena
Have a good day all!

Rocketship 7, a morning children's show, was hosted by weatherman Dave Thomas (a.k.a. "Dave Roberts" of WPVI, born David Thomas Boreanaz, father of actor David Boreanaz) and "Promo the Robot" from 1962 until Thomas left the station for Philadelphia's WPVI-TV in 1978 (changing his on-air moniker to Dave Roberts in the process). Thomas also hosted Dialing for Dollars which became AM Buffalo in the mid-1970s.
thanksfor all the answers everyone

OK, NOW you're dredging up memories from my childhood, too!!
But I seem to recall it was Tom Jolls from WKBW who hosted that show!
And yes, I watched Captain Kangaroo, too! (Robert Keeshan, who was
also "Clarabell The Clown" on Howdy Doody!!!)
WKBW was the only U.S. station we could get, on an antenna of course!

I have a vivid memory of the Uncle Bobby Show (Channel 9 in Toronto) from 1964 or 1965 because I was on the show. I was about 5 and in a sketch with two puppets talking about the types of houses we live in. I believe one of the puppets was an Eskimo and the other might have been an Indian or something like that. I'd love to get hold of the video, but don't think it's possible. If it exists, it's probably on some reel to reel in basement somewhere.

In the Windsor area, where I had a very misspent youth, Art Cervi played the TV role from 1967–1975 at CKLW-TV. I actually watched this drivel when I came home from school, but only to check out the pretty girls in the audience. This Month's Cool Site - Google Translate for Animals

mj, it would be so cool if you could find that video...why don't you contact them and ask? i'm sure it's somewhere in their archives (maybe they even uploaded to youtube!!! lol!!)
i was a fan of uncle bobby back when. Also, i was one of those nuckleheads that watched the three stooges all the time (still do occasionally on youtube); another one of my very favs was the rocky and bullwinkle show (mr know-it-all, fractured fairy tales, dudley doo-right, boris and natasha....) they just don't make kids shows like they used to (thank gawd!!)

OK, as long as we're all confessing...
Does anyone remember the kids' show, "Razzle Dazzle," with
Al Hamel and Michelle Finney? I was on that show in '62 as a
contestant in the Cross-Canada Quiz... Won the "Encyclopedia
Britannica Junior" set!! I wonder what happened to the poor young
lady that I devastated with my lightning-sharp mental reflexes... LOL
Alas, I gave away that very collectible set a few years ago to
a former girlfriend. DAMN, but I'm stupid!!

(Still watching Rocky & Bullwinkle - I have a couple of seasons on DVD!)

OK, since we're discussing sordid memories of our misspent youth, was I the only geek who LOVED Definition? Dave Devall the weatherman moonlighting as quiz show host.
A few yrs back, my best friend & I went on vacation to California. We had some time to kill, so we ended up watching a taping of Wheel Of Fortune. I nearly got tossed out, cause I kept grumbling under my breath. 1 letter missing & no one could get the answer right. Argh! My friend kept nudging me in the ribs to shut up.

OK, HERE'S one for you!! When I spent a few years in Timmins
as an aircraft mechanic, the only channel we could get was one that
broadcasted "PARTY GAME" every night. Remember - with Billy Van,
Jack Duffy, and Dinah Christie? The highlight of our night
was to watch this drivel!!! That, or go outside on a clear evening
and watch the aurora borealis. (Which was pretty good, actually!)
