When you consider the number of entries onto the Club "Q" at the times they announce the words, they have to use their web servers to filter incorrect answers. This would be done by programming in the correct words. Given spelling issues and backdoors they purposely program in (IE - "---", "abc" and the first three letters).
I'm betting that if it is accepted and you get the points, it registers as a valid ballot. It would take up too much memory to retain the answer entered for verification later, when they can simply filter at the beginning.
Just my thoughts and 2 cents worth.
This is also somewhat based on me recently winning a Dewalt jigsaw and I use abc, --- and just the first three letters constantly.

Wouldn't the DeWalt Jigsaw have been as result of bidding points (acquired from word entry) as an entry vs words being the entry?

Interesting point/expalantion. Agree that there would be a massive job by the servers to do the filtering...especially for prizes like jigsaw given that they accept entries from across a number of radio stations. The AC/DC contest is specific to Q107, and with the prize value being so high you would think that they would have tighter controls on the contest entries.

Neon - All valid points (no pun intended)
It is conceivable that the rules are more strictly enforced and more under the control of Corus, but because they use the same system (run by an outfit in Georgia) I "suspect" that they are using the same logic and limiting it to Q listenership by only posting on the Q site.
In reading the rules, the selected contestant must answer a "skill testing question" By law, they have to do this to determine the winner. One could argue that all our hard work listening and entering codes, is purely to get a contestant for the real question.
In other words - Who knows?
We play and hope for the best and good luck to us all !!

Thanks Wallie but nearly 12 hours after the word was announced it was still on my list, and "glasgow" worked for me.

behold! my newly added maple leaf! I feel like I'm gettin some seniority around here...

Anyway, enough of the meaningless drivel and on to something more important. I wrote to Q and asked the question 'is there a way to view ballots online' (not the points). I received an answer within minutes...they did not say there was a way to view your ballots, but did offer that I do not need to get the answers exactly letter for letter, rather, just need to hit on some of the letters comprising the answer. So if I've mispelled some answers along the way, I would still have a valid ballot.

Imac and Neon, thanks for posting your thoughts; all very good points and much appreciated.

I agree with Neon. Corporate auditors are likely involved in "sweepstakes" level prizes and the controls are likely tighter.

Thanks Whomeno. It really help to get the answer from the horse's mouth (so to speak) instead of guessing and theorizing.
    I know everyone appreciates it.
