Well, Yea the Humane Society does feed their animals, but the kitten program was started a few years ago for kittens who are found, brought in etc. that have no mother (who knows what happened) and need to be fed with a syringe, KMR which is the closest to the mother's milk. Some are only a week old! They never used to do this as they didn't have the manpower (or actually don't now) so they made it a volunteer program. They get quite a few people willing to do the feeding for these little guys which keeps the little cuties alive. After a few weeks they still need help feeding and after that they go to adoption. Some come in with their mother's but still need help. I feel bad for the mother's though as their babies go to adoption when ready and then the mom does too but she doesn't get adopted as easily as she is older and not as cute (what a drag for her). Anyway I find it quite emotional as I love animals and hate to see them in cages, but I guess that's the way they have to be kept until someone comes along and adopts them. Thats where my two came from. I guess anyone who cares is going to feel bad but you just have to do it anyway to help them.
IngyMc and Chers1 were right companionship is very important when you sit in a cage day after day. I used to do that too for the bigger ones.
By the way, if anyone has the time or inclination there's lots of bigger kitties and doggies who need company. Actually the dogs need the walks but they only take experienced walkers.
The worst thing are people who give up their animals and they end up there in a cage depressed. Its pretty sad. Please keep your pets and treat them well, they have a lot of feelings, really. On that note I better go, don't mean to go on and on and on ........

Hi Karl:
I'd like to add my thoughts and prayers for your dad's speedy recovery. As our parents get older it's something we all are facing. Hope you are taking care of yourself as well, it's easy to get run down when caring for others.

Don`t forget to click the Bonus Sites for an extra 11K in points. There are also Q Points for Picks up - I`m afraid I usually forget about these, cause I have no clue what I should pick (I let the critters decide, they know as much as I do about football).
