Well, it's time I stepped out of my comfort zone, so here goes. This one's for you, Loocie!


Of all the folks who hang out here, there's none who can compare
With the gal from near Toronto with fair skin and reddish hair
Who brings a smile so often with her synchopatic prose
We all are sympathetic when she speaks of hubby's nose
That vibrates oh so loudly while our Loocie tries to rest
I'm sure it drives her mad and puts her patience to the test
It's bound to make her crazy when the bed begins to shake
And the sounds of all that snoring, makes it feel like an earthquake
Has come to old Ontario to wake her from her sleep
She must just want to shake him, say some things like "Holy Bleep"
Instead she comes to us and asks for help and sage advice
To help him overcome it, and to make her bedroom nice
For our Loocie to dream sweetly, think of all things Mighty Q
So she can scribe another poem that brings joy to me and you
So let's help her with this problem, find a permanent repair
And make Loocie's home the quietest, any time and anywhere!

I am so honoured FlyGuy123. That's was so thoughtful & you sure made me smile (& blush!).
As you may have gathered my poems just come to me on the spur of the moment & at times I get off on a bit of a tangent. It makes me feel happy if I can make someone smile by simply jotting down a few lines.
Now we can all see that FlyGuy has many talents.
From the bottom of my heart I express my gratitude to you for taking the time just for me.

Also, thanks to everyone for your sleep-snoring advice. DH did have a sleep study completed recently & is awaiting for the experts to confirm what I already know.

I truly get a kick from sharing a little bit of time on here with all of you "Q" folk. I tip my hat to all of you.

Never had a problem. Not even my neighbour's bulldog who often has that issue with other food.

Broccoli cookies? I'll bet the smell is pretty powerful. Our dog's a vegetarian (her choice, not ours!) and she'd love something like that. Any chance you could PM me with the recipe?

Mmmmm - broccoli cookies - do you share the recipe?? Seriously??

Brocolli (or any other veggie or fruit) Dog (or cat) Cookies
Boil the brocolli until it is soft enough to be mashed by a fork.
Puree, adding enough water to make it pourable.
Add enough flour (all purpose or whole wheat work well, rice flour can be a bit of a pain to work with) to make a thick dough.
Roll out to about 1/2inch thickness (can be thicker if you want chewier cookies, but they won`t last as long).
Cut out shapes using cookie cutters (or the rim of a glass or a knife, etc).

For Chewy Cookies:
Bake at 350F for 20 minutes.
Turn off oven & allow to cool.

For Crunchy Cookies:
Bake at 200F for 45 minutes.
Turn off oven & allow to cool.


The chewy cookies last about 2 weeks at my place before going a bit bad (I'm near the lake so the moisture level's quite high here). The crunchy ones last about 6 weeks (not that I've been able to test out this theory, since they're usually gone within a week or so).

You can substitue anything in the world your pup likes. I usually use whatever is starting to get a bit too ripe in my fridge that I know I won't be able to eat before it spoils. I also pick up the marked down ripe veggies in the grocery store to save a few pennies. The dough also freezes quite well, so you can always mix it up when you have a bit of time on your hands & divide into smaller batches, then just pull out the dough & have ready to bake cookies. I`ve found the dogs in my neighbourhood (they know me as the cookie lady) all like cauliflower, broccoli & banana. Most like apple & carrot. Some love pear, but some will turn up their nose at it.


Now that I've gone completely off topic (for the benefit of those who are too shy to post a request), back to the tunes & words on the Q.
