Are you all getting ready to blow your New Year’s horn?
Who is hosting the party for all of us Smart Canucks,
Should we celebrate on the quiet side or go flashy & deluxe?
I’ve offered to bring fruitcake to add to the buffet,
If anyone wants to include a cheesy dip that would also be O.K.
If you’re so inclined you could bring your guitar or fiddle,
We could even play some party games like Monkey in the Middle,
Some liquid refreshments of course to be consumed in moderation,
The reason we are SC is cause we always resist temptation,
Who has a house that’s large enough for all of us to fill?
The thought of such togetherness just makes me feel the thrill,
In case anyone is worried or feeling in a fuss,
Don’t worry about driving, cause I’ve found us all a bus,
2010 will arrive & the daily grind soon enough,
So at our celebration, feel free to strut your stuff,
It’s been a slice on here over this past year & with that being said,
Just remember that now it seems we cannot post in red,
So, Happy New Year to each of you & a simple thanks from me,
For making this place so much fun…there’s no where I’d rather be.

Had a nice belated Xmas lunch with some friends today. They were all turkey'd out (I was the only one who wasn't, we'd had cabbage rolls for Xmas dinner, it's our traditional Xmas Day meal, Xmas eve was fish), so we had burgers at the Keg (yummy!).

I've spent half the evening reliving some of my youth. I've been searching for The Christmas Messenger (with Richard Chamberlain) for years now. One of the SCers came to my rescue & found it on youtube (I'd never thought to search there). So I'm a happy camper now.

Just came home from the Trans Siberian Orchestra show in the Hammer tonight. In a word, it was awesome! If you ever get the chance at a ticket, I would highly recommend picking one up. They normally only come around at Christmas time, but the leader said something during the show about a possible tour later in the spring that won't be focused on Christmas music.

If you're not familiar with their stuff, here's little video of someone's Christmas lights synchronized to TSO's "Wizards in Winter".

I was up in Georgetown with the family visiting the brother-in-law's brother Christmas Eve and we stopped by to see this house. They do this every year, setting the light display to music, which is broadcast from inside the house using an FM transmitter.
