How old would you be, if you didn't know how old you were?

Mornin' all......thanks for the reps, codes, etc, you guys rock!!!....and holy crap, it's the end of 2009...anyone else think it zoomed on by?...mostly to do with or suumerless summer, for sure....and we need nice summers to get thru the crappy winters.... having said that, it hasn't been too bad yet, but we are approaching Jan and Feb.....all hell has been known to breal loose right around then.....
......... on the upside, the days are getting longer....YAY!!!.....sometimes that's the only thing that gets me thru it....roll on May ( I LOVE springtime, all the greens are so fresh and varied in hue)...gorgeous, and incredibly uplifting or the soul....
but for now, Happy New Year, stay safe, and we'll see ya on the other side....TROrrabest, Orratime!!

Some great nostalgia there, SliiyLoocie! The Super Connie is one of my favourite aircraft designs.
Anyone who spent some time around YYZ in the 90s will remember the red and white Constellation in Trans Canada Airlines colours that was parked in front of the Regal Constellation hotel at Dixon Rd and Carlingview Dr. The hotel used it as a bar for a couple of years but it never really caught on. It was eventually sold and the new owners towed it up to a piece of land on Derry Rd on the north side of the airport and turned it into a restaurant. It was a fad that caught on for a while but the food was mediocre and they ended up closing down. Sadly, the aircraft sat there deteriorating for a long time. Then, a buyer from the US came along with the intentions of taking it to the US to restore it. A political battle raged on for a while as some folks were upset that a piece of Canadian aviation history would be leaving the country. Eventually the purchasers won out and it went down south for restoration. Thankfully, they restored it back to the TCA colours and the aircraft now sits in the Museum of Flight at Boeing Field in Seattle, where it will live on.
For anyone who's interested, here's a link to a collection of pictures starting with the aircraft in it's original configuration with TCA up to it being moved to the museum. The pictures of the move from Rome, NY to Seattle are pretty interesting. It's no small feat to tow an old airliner across the country.

Once in a Blue Moon on New Year's Eve -- or Not?
Second Full Moon of the Month Will Ring in 2010
New Year's Eve is never dull. But nights like tonight happen just once in a blue moon.
The term "blue moon" now refers to the second full moon in a month, but folklorists say the phrase has a long and rich history.

Not only will a full moon light up the festive evening, but a so-called blue moon will help ring in 2010 for revelers in the Western hemisphere.
So while you're out carousing with friends or family, take a break from your champagne and noisemakers to look up at the night sky.
You may see the "blue moon," but you won't see the moon awash in the color blue.
The term "blue moon" generally refers to the second full moon in a month and occurs just once every 2.7 years. The last blue moon to shine on New Year's Eve was 19 years ago, in 1990.Last edited by Chers1; Thu, Dec 31st, 2009 at 10:54 AM. Reason: to much info
