Don't forget the pig skin football picks, and your chance at 1600 points... and since the points seem to be getting slim.. better get while you have the chance

    Happy New Year's Everyone!
I'm back! My power pack went out on my computer and it's been dead at the shop for a few days. It's fixed now.
Hope everyone had a great night last night and are having a quiet relaxing day today. I know I am

Maybe losing some bonus sites is a Y10K thing

Happy New Year everyone!!!!! Hope you have a great 2010!

Although I'm working hard, my year is starting off productively. I've been missing somewhat because I've been working on another renovation project for the past two weeks - my assistants' office. I'll send a pic when it's done.
    Cheers!

Somehow I don't think that Tiger would be a good selection for the Golf Pool...maybe it's Phil's year?

....interesting link, Karl, thank you....I also read a few of the comments made by the great unwashed, and was cracking up....
...someone referred to the Blue Moon being mentioned in the Trivial Pursuit "Genius" edition.....um, maybe try "genus"???....I always loved to play that game with people who referred to it as the genius edition. I usually whupped their butts!!!!
....someone else then referred to the volcanic explosion in 1884 ( or was it 1883?...I was laughing too hard to really care!!!).....so they talk about "Karacatoa" exploding in 1884, only to be corrected by another person saying "sorry, but the spelling is "Karkatau", and the date was 1883.....ROFL!!...OMG!!!....and even at that, the volcano seems to have retained 2 spellings, Krakatau and Krakatoa....oh, I love these pseudo-intellectuals, ya think they'd at least "no hau 2 spel"...duh!!!.....TR, giggling into my cointreau-spiked New Year coffee...hmmm, could that be doing it for me???

Hi TR. It was 1883 and the original spelling is Krakatau. The international network of undersea telegraph cables had been in place for only a short time, and this was the first 'Global' news story. Problem was, a western journalist mispelled it as Krakatoa in a cable to London and that was the name that stuck. Very interesting book by Simon Winchester on this, covers all the angles from geology to history to geopolitics.

Sorry - too pseudo for you?

....nope, not at all.......but isn't that odd that both spellings were retained?.....I am a real stickler for spelling, I always wanted to have a job as a proofreader at any publication, I can usually spot misspellings and improper grammar....there was a beauty a few years ago in the Pickering Rec Centre community programmes guide....about how easy it was to get to the Rec Centre, via pubic transit......uh.....yeah....that was definitely one for Jay Leno's Headline bloopers!! ..LOL!!!....TR
