Since we're sharing our household nightmare stories, I also have an uncontrolled water flow story from a couple of days ago. We had a load of laundry running in our front load washing machine (it's about 4 years old). The machine started to make a grinding noise during the spin cycle. At first I thought it was out of balance but then I realized that it sounded like something coming apart. My first thought was the motor or the pump. Anyways, I ran to the laundry room to investigate and as I approached the laundry room door, I darned near went arse over tea kettle as I was greeted by a river of suds and water coming down the hallway on a ceramic tile floor! I quickly got to the water shutoff valves and then called for the towel brigade. As it happens, my wife recently bought a handfull of those Sham Wow thingies, and while I can't stand that annoying guy Vince on their commercials, I have to say their product lived up to its name. We got the flood under control before it went too far, although some did manage to flow through the wall and down into the basement utility room. Thankfully none of it ran into the rec room (or onto my prized antique pool table).
The Sears guy was by yesterday to look at it and he found that the wash tub had worn completely through the roller bearings at the front, which allowed the water to spill out during the spin cycle. He said it was the sixth one he's seen like this in three months, all on the same type of front load machine. Of course, the replacement parts are on back order for a couple of weeks, so we're back to using a laundromat for the first time in about 25 years!A truly wise man never plays leapfrog with a unicorn.

Morning All: Hope all is well and wishing everyone a very Happy New Year and all the best to you and yours in 2010. I hope it's all you wish it to be and more xo
Just getting back to the swing of things, haven't done much with the site in the past 2 weeks.
FlyGuy - glad it caught the flood before it did more damage (that's one of few reasons why I like the washer and dryer in the basement)
Waynethegolfer - maybe FlyGuy can send you some water?
Congrats WizeGuy!!
Also my baby boy is 21 today....where has the time gone to?
Stay warm andd i hope to be around more often...thanks for all the answers, words, etc and all the great readings and giggles...
Cheers,
Kellskeep smiling
