Not that I want to start anything... but I would have to ask for validation on this one. Clapton's father, father was born Edward Walter Fryer on March 21, 1920, in Montreal. He was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces stationed in England, and returned to Montreal after the war. He passed away at Sunnybrook Hospital on May 15, 1985. I have seen pictires of Edward, I personally see no sign of oriental heritage. There is a very good website about this...

Sayvette's was a department store. There were a few of them in the GTA. I loved going there to buy records and browse around.

I use to go to that Red Barn and Sayvette all the time, we lived near Midland & Eglinton 64 -70 before moving to the Cedarbrae area. I still remember dad complaining when the $0.25 Big Barney was no longer sufficent to satify my growing appetite and he had to splurge for the Barn Buster somewhere in the range of $0.60. McDonald's wasn't in Canada yet, the McD's a block east didn't open until 73 / 74 if I remember correct. We still have a Red Barn in Whitby, it's the used car office at Nurse Chev / Olds.

we had one on king st between park and stevenson rd used to be my hangout wednesday nights on my way home from cubs and scouts.
