Your name suits you to a T silly Lucy.
Here's one more clue, the 45 of this song gets a lot of air play as well.
I'll give the answer at 4:00 if no one gets it.
The band / song and crazy events of the evening are one of the greatest moments and stories in Canadian rock.

Good afternoon fellow Canuckleheads (and I mean that in the best possible way)!
Welcome to the Q Zoo fredtech, HVAC and TpBoomer!
Just wanted to thank you all for the winning words today. I am currently all repped out but should be able to start repping again in about an hour or two.
Wow, it looks like a lot of you have grown up in Scarborough. I grew up in the Bayview & Sheppard area, but had a friend who I spent a lot of time with as a kid in the Bellamy beween Lawrence & Eglinton area. Also when I was living in North York, I spent a lot of time at the Scarborough Bluffs and Rouge River area. Now that I have been living in Brampton for the past 20 years, Scarborough is so "far" away.
I also remember the Red Barn, but that one was in Sudbury, where I lived when I was much younger. Clumaster mentioned about the one in Mississauga that is now a Mr. Sub. That is the only former Red Barn that I am aware of.
Well folks, it is nice to walk down memory lane with you all. It really sounds like most of us are in the same age bracket (I am 45). Silly Loocie, where do you dig up those nostalgic pictures?
Have a great afternoon, and if I didn't rep you yet, I will when I can!

I have a collection of old postcards too. Nostalgia is a hobby of mine. It keeps me out of trouble. hahahaha!!!!!
Kevin24 I can't wait for you to reveal the answer to your trivia question. I know that when you tell us we're all gonna go oh!!!!!
I know that Rick James once played at the Broom and so did Ronnie Hawkins. I didn't see them cause that was a bit before my time.

Yes, I remember Cedarbrae pre-indoor mall status.
Anyone remember having to buy movie tickets in advance & stand in line for what seemed like hours outside Cedarbrae cinema? When they had only 1 screen?

The little unknown band at that time was the GUESS WHO and the song of fame from the events of the Scarborough evening was the birth of a little track you all know called AMERICAN WOMAN (flip side NO SUGAR TONIGHT).
I actually remember seeing their name on the sign. I was about 5 years old and we were going to pick up mom when she worked at Alex Irvine chev / olds across from Towers.
The crazy part of this classic evening as told by Burton Cummings was the band was on break and everyone was out in the parking lot smoking whatever they smoked in the 60's. Everyone went back on stage except for Burton who indulged one more time. A few minutes later Randy started ripping out the now famous cords of American Woman for the very first time. Burton in a moment of haste rushed back inside to do something with the music he instantly took a liking too and started belting out the words to American Woman with zero preparation, they just came to his head.
Now the funny part, no one could remember the song the next day but they knew they wanted too reproduce that magic moment from night before. The band was extremely lucky because someone in the audience had brought a tape recorder to the show and they were able to retrieve the song and the rest is history.
