Power Station...wow...it was in that era that I saw Robert Palmer (blue-eyed soul he left us too early). Was in Honolulu on vacation and heard on the local radio station that Robert Palmer was going to be playing the Hilton. I think it was the furthest I've been to see a concert...until the Clapton/Beck concert in London, that is.

I saw The Power Station in Toronto at the CNE in '85 with Paul Young, OMD and Nik Kershaw. Robert Palmer wasn't the touring vocalist at that point, though, it was Michael Des Barres.



The lineup was John and Andy Taylor of Duran Duran on bass and guitar, Tony Thompson on drums, and Michael Des Barres on vocals. (Palmer, if I remember correctly, thought of the Power Staton as a side-project, and didn't want to tour)
