I would talk to your family doctor. We handle some hospital bills here in our office. You'd be amazed at the number of people who allow this bill to go to third party collections, thinking the fee was covered by OHIP. What they don't realise is that the ride IS covered by OHIP, this is your co-payment fee. The actual bill itself can be hundreds of dollars. (I've seen some of the people NOT covered by OHIP's bills!)

Yeah, I found out about that after my bf's brother in law had to foot a $400 ambulance bill in Montreal. Sometimes we are quite lucky here in Ontario, we just always want more.

Not feeling so jovial anymore. Got a $45 bill for my ambulance ride last week. I didn't call the ambulance, my family doctor did. So why should I have to pay?

I'm pretty sure that if your Dr. calls.. you do not have to pay.. look into it

You're absolutely right. The letter I got said the fee is $240 for people not covered by OHIP, so OHIP does cover a big portion of it. I'll submit this to a private insurance company first and if they cover 80% (which I think they might) I'll be giving the hospital $9 out of pocket.

Oh man did you guys just hear Joanne say about that TTC driver getting suspended for getting off while on duty to get coffee? That's crazy, because the drivers here in Hamilton do that! I mean, most of the time, they go use the bathroom and come back with nothing. They're only human.

The insurance company might pay the entire $ 45.00....they always did in my case....

The story doesn't seem complete. We have no idea about the history of this bus driver. I am not taking sides, yet it seems there is more to the story that is being kept quiet for whatever reason..
Last week or was it 2 weeks ago now the other TTC employee was found asleep at the ticket booth. So much hype surrounding it and few details were available at the time. Turns out the man has a illness that contributes to his sleeping... Again not sure of other details..

This guy was gone for 15 min. He took his own break!!! Not a washroom break, which is totally acceptable. He was even quoted saying he didn't care because he was backed by the union! What gets me is this guy is suspended WITH PAY!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
