Throwing the back out must have been awful too, you need your back for a lot of things. Geez.

Well, I know that we had some adventures that we are not soon to forget! lol. The back turned out fine. Only hurt for a day or two. I think that it was a combination of all that rowing, biking and chopping wood.

We are thinking of going there again this year. God help me.....

What a great story!

Two summers ago, I decided to take the kids to Rondeau Provincial Park for two weeks....


The next year I took the kids to Mexico.

Great camping story Tad! Where else do you get that kind of adventure at bargain basement prices? LOL
Kenrod mentioned Silent lake, Beautiful spot! My kids thought it was the "Forest moon of Endor"

Haven't camped for 20 years or so, but use to like
both Presqu'ile and Sandbanks whenever was at
Shannonville Motorsports Park

Bon Echo is also very nice

Camping now for sure is Hotels

I'm sure I have lots of vacation stories but the one that comes to mind happened when my eldest daughter was 2 and a half and the youngest wasn't born yet. We decided to try cottaging (in order to have a bed to sleep on) and one day my daughter and I were walking along a dirt road through a heavily treed area when a flash of black emerged from one side crossed directly in front of us and disappeared into the trees on the other side. My daughter yelled out gleefully "DOGGIE!!!!" I stammered quietly "that was not a doggie" and started to slowly back up in case any more black bears especially that one's mama decide to make their appearance. Didn't see any more the rest of the week there. But I'll never forget that.

Actually one of the worst things about camping is when you have to go in the middle of the night and its pouring rain!

That would have been pretty gross Driver, a tent is no place to throw up!


"These Aren't Pillows" I have seen that movie, Trains, Planes and Automobiles with J. Candy and S. Martin a few times, pretty funny!

.. I've been camping ever since I was 4.. yup.. 44 consecutive years of a bountiful of camping trips.. So you say..in the middle of the night .. in the pouring rain ...well.. there have been a couple of times. As I said.. I have a hard top trailer.. one evening I went to leave my trailer to do.. what sometimes we need to do.. in the middle of the night and low and behold.. a skunk.. right at my trailer steps.. now..I'm not going out... so ..I gotta hold it..bummer.. you'd think that would have taught me a lesson.. but nope...we had a year of nothing but ffn bears.. 150-600 lb black bears.... everywhere.. you could hear them breathing.. that year.. I brought a bucket into the trailer with me...and still do...
Ask me again why I love camping... I have no idea... but I think its the beer...

Recaps might be a bit late tonight. I'm going out to dinner to celebrate my friend's b-day tonight. The restaurant's a smidge pricy, but the food is to die for - Copacabana Brazilian steakhouse at Yonge & Eglinton. I was there last summer, we were there for over 3 hrs, trying a little bit of this & a little bit of that. Yummy! Can't wait!

Is it anything like the one in Niagara Falls by the same name, where men come around to your table with giant skewers of meat and slice it onto your plate? The ~$39 at that Niagara one is well worth it!

Yep, the one at Niagara was their first. They opened a second restaurant here in Toronto last summer.

& yes, there are some handsome men that come round with prime rib, steak & all sorts of carnivorous delights. Yummy!

& for the boys, last time I was there there were a few pretty girls dressed in itsy bitsy scraps of cloth & large feathers, a la mardi gras.
