Good morning fellow Canucks!
It is a chilly one out today, but at least the sun is shining. More importantly, we missed that big snowstorm that hammered the Mid-Atlantic states yesterday.
Have a great day folks! Rep you when I can!

There may be more truth in that than you know! I've never been to the one by Earls Court (home of the Pink Floyd concert DVD "Pulse"), but I've stayed in a few of the Ibis hotels in the UK and the rooms are often quite tiny. You know your room is going to be small when you open the door and it hits the bed before it's even 2/3 of the way open (not all were that bad, though)! Pack light guys because there isn't a ton of space for hanging your clothes or storing your luggage. Remember, a pair of tighty whities is good for four days (normal, backwards, inside out normal and inside out backwards
).
My "queen sized" bed at the one in Glasgow was really just two single beds pushed together, but you didn't dare try to sleep across the seam between the two because the tile floor was so slippery that any movement caused the beds to slide apart, eventually leaving a gap wide enough for you to fall through!I can't imagine what would have happened if a couple of consenting adults had tried to engage in any gymnastics.
But in the end it's just a place to crash, so don't sweat the hotel part. You've got way too many things to squeeze into your five days to worry about whether or not you're accommodations are in the Taj Mahal.A truly wise man never plays leapfrog with a unicorn.

That's almost exactly the same as my feeling on the subject, except to say that my idea of a fun time requires someone with indoor plumbing!
I'm probably going to get in trouble for that, but I just can't pass up a straight line like that one. Off I go now to my bunker to ride out the barrage.A truly wise man never plays leapfrog with a unicorn.

First car was actually a truck - a 1968 International Harvester pickup like the one in the picture with the same red colour.
It had a V6 and a three on the tree manual transmission with no power brakes or power steering. It belonged to my grandfather but he had a serious stroke just after I turned 17 and he couldn't drive any more. One day when I was visiting him in the hospital, he told me to go over to his house and grab the keys and it was mine for the taking, so long as I took care of it (he was always very good to me and I still miss him terribly). Well I got alot of use out of that truck. I drove it all the way out to northern Alberta for my first bush flying back in '83. In '85 when I was working in the Red Lake area, it was stolen one night by a bunch of drunken local teenagers who proceeded to drive it until it blew up and then they set it on fire. Oh well, it was good while it lasted.A truly wise man never plays leapfrog with a unicorn.
