One could argue that the "words" are actually gotten from the same system that was down. Therefore with the system down, there would be no access to the "word" list.

I've been in the booth with Alex while he was trying to think of a word. It's up to the announcers, there's no list given to them.

Good morning fellow Canucks!

Boy, I can smell the chili cooking everywhere. Guess everyone is getting ready for the big game tonight. Personally, I don't care who wins because none of my favourite teams made it. Plus, when it comes to Indianapolis or New Orleans, I am indifferent to who wins. Both teams I can take or leave.

Now that I think of it, I don't remember who I voted for in the Q Points for Picks. I'd better check it out so I know who to cheer for.

I do not agree that "Rep Power" is always the # of points you give when you rep someone. For example, I have received reps from those with a "Rep Power" of several hundred, and even several thousand, and yet the highest number of points I have ever received from a single rep is approximately 100. Therefore I am inclined to think that there is actually a cap on the number of points one can give when they rep, regardless of their "Rep Power", unless of course there is a setting somewhere on the site, where once can actually control the "rep" point value given.

According to you, if you rep me, I should get 4736 points (your current "Rep Power"). I do not believe that is correct, and the rules do NOT appear to confirm that fact. Again, the most points I have ever received with a rep is approximately 100 points.

Obviously that's not always true, as we saw with the UK contest, where in fact there was indeed a list, which was even repeated to a large extent.

And if you are insecure enough to think that when someone simply questions a answer you provide to them, as being incredibly rude, then I feel very sorry for you. The fact is, contrary to what you stated, "Rep Power" does NOT always mean those are the number of points given to those you rep. When a member's "Rep Power" is 50 or less, yes, that is the number of points given for each rep. BUT after a member's "Rep Power" passes 50, the points given to those they rep are in fact capped at 50. And neither you nor the link you provided from ilovemykids (Post #16 Reputation Explained) states that fact.
