My complaint isn't even with the artists they play, but rather the selection of material. I understand the reasoning for it (gotta play the songs people know so people will keep listening, and keep supporting the people paying for the adspace), but once in a while it's nice to hear an album side, or even a "deep cut".

For example, when's the last time you heard Springsteen's Something in the Night or Streets of Fire on Q107? Now, when's the last time you heard Born to Run or Hungry Heart?
What do the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Titanic have in common?

They both look good until they hit the ice.

I would like to add that, it would please me to know that everyone who reads it, take what you want from it. Then move on.

One very cold winters day, a sparrow decided to take flight and try to find something to eat. As she was flying, the temperature dropped even further, to the point that the poor sparrow froze in midflight and fell to the ground. As she lay there in a feild, close to death, a kindly old cow passed over her, and dropped a big load of cow patties on her. Soon the flies came and the little sparrow was eating flies and staying warm in the pile of hot cow poop. The little sparrow was happy once again and started to sing. A barn cat close by, heard the sparrow singing, came over, moved off the cow poop, found our happy little singing sparrow, and ate it.

The moral to the story is this: Not everyone who craps on you is your enemy. Not everyone who gets you out of crap , is your friend. And lastly, if your warm, safe, happy and everything is ok, keep your mouth shut.
    Hey Wizeguy!

    That's a great tale!!

If you don't get pooped on every now & then you;ll never smell the roses!!

Someone posted a similar comment recently, but there are prizes in the prize vault that have (for several days) been "pending notification of winner" or something to that effect.

Why is this, what does this mean? Have they already drawn and there has been no response to Qs email or phone call. Or are they not picked yet?

I`m a terrible one for switching from station to station. Of course, it really depends on the DJs, the songs & the *commercials*. I often switch as soon as the commercial starts (yes, I`m the one the advertizers hate ). There are a couple of stations I enjoy (& yes, I`m also a part of other loyalty programs, not that I`ve won anything), so I cycle through them, depending on the time of day. Since I`m home, I also listen to the Galaxy 80s channel (satellite tv).

Gee, I guess I`m easy. There goes my reputation.

I do have a confession. Yrs ago (around 1996), I absolutely HATED Q107. My then bf LOVED Q107, so I listened to it all the time - at his place, in the car (he kept changing the dial while I was driving), & at my work (we both worked at the same place & he controlled the radio). Of course, back then I was a fan of CHUM FM, before they became obsessed with teeny bopper music (sheesh, can you tell I`m old??? ).

Does anyone know why John Scholes was moved from his permanent on-air position in the evenings to the roaming, fill-in-when-someone-calls-in-sick guy? Did it have anything to do with his part in the Rolling Stones "live broadcast" fiasco?

I agree with you completely. I really like Rush...but it seems they play the same three or four songs repeatedly. Maybe it's because I'm not a Stones fan, *ducking*, but at times it seems whenever I turn on the radio...yep, Stones again. I used to flip between Q and my country station but now that the later no longer exists, I'm really glad I have an extensive album & CD collection.

I do own "Some Girls" but only because a friend's Dad won it eons ago from CHUM, back when you won prizes for having the CHUM sticker on your car. He was spotted with his CHUM sticker and part of the prize pack was "Some Girls." Knowing I loved music...I think I was all of 14 years old at the time...he gave it to me.

I'd love to hear more April Wine, Trooper, Styx, Janis Joplin, and a better variety of Rush and Bryan Adams on Q. Yes, I've sent off a quick email to Q in the past to mention this and they thanked me for my input...didn't change anything, but at least they were polite about it.
