    I heard it on my way to my neices house... if he had acctually been dead... I probably would haved pulled over and cried my eyes out.. instead I turned it up sooooo loud..( which i do when I want to drowned out my own singing) and pretended I was on my way to one of my favorite camping spots.. I also knew a carpenter that use to do work for him..he had his cupboards replace (they use to be old pine) and the carpenter made a table out of some of the peices.. I still have this table.. and call it my "Gordon Lightfoot table"..

The young fella that was driving didnt have a license, had plates on the car that were registered to another vehicle, fled the scene, and, was driving at a high rate of speed. At first I felt rage pump through my veins, but, as the day wore on, the rage was replaced by a deep sorrow for all involved. This young man made a huge mistake that will live with him for the rest of his days and when I think of it, many young men, myself included, broke speed limits and drove recklessly trying to impress girls, but thankfully, most of us were fortunate to make it home. All in all it is a tremendous tragidy that I would wish on nobody. So, with this being said, please take a minute to talk to anyone in your life that may be at the age to make these terrible decisions and let them know just how fragile life is.
    God bless you Nicole, and may you be at peace.
    So sorry to hear this! It is so much worse when the deceased is a young person! Everyone involved will live with this for a long time.
    Best wishes in their struggle.

    While this is indeed rather tragic, it seems to me that all three of the people in the car made a huge mistake, not just the young man.

    My sincere condolences, I feel especially sad for the little girl. You are very compassionate, I would not cut the driver any slack at all. He made a concerted effort to drive that vehicle illegally.

    Hey guys! For a guy who doesn't follow sports of any kind. I'm guessing fairly well on the points for picks.
    Got 5000 twice on the latest two and plenty before that.

    Cool!
    I'm confused. Wait... Maybe I'm not!

    I agree with FeetFrown's assessment of PSunday's and Q's penchant for repetition. However, have to say, there's one song I will NEVER tire of hearing ..... I just watched Christine Nesbitt's GOLD medal ceremony and I'm so proud – both of her and her accomplishment but also of folks attending the ceremony who were just singing their little hearts out.

    In Canada , instead of applying for Old Age Pension, you should rather apply for the Status of Refugee..
    It IS interesting to know that the federal Government of Canada allows:
    A monthly pension of : $1,890.00 to a simple refugee
    plus : 580.00 insocial aid
    ==========
    A grand total of : $2,470.00 monthly
    X 12 months
    ==========
    $28,920.00 annual income

    By comparison, the Old Age Pension of a senior citizen who has contributed to the development of
    Our Beautiful Big Country during 40 or 50 years, CANNOT receive more than :

    Amount/month $1,012.00 in Old Age Pension and Guaranteed Income Supplement
    X 12 months
    ============
    $12,144..00 annual income
    A difference of : $16,776.00 per year
    Perhaps our seniors should ask for the Status of Refugees instead of applying for Old Age Pension.

    I APOLOGIZE in advance if I am breaking any rules and/or upsetting ANYONE! Robyn, if those numbers are accurate - there is something GREATLY EFFIN Wrong with this country!!! I like to think of myself as a proud CANADIAN!! WTF !!!

    OMG Skidoman, I'm so sorry to hear of this very, very tragic event. We don't know what will happen day to day but we are never ready for something of this magnitude! I wish there were some way to get through to these people about how important safe driving is! Maybe he will realize now but at the cost of this girl's life!!! Again, I am sorry.....
