gonna miss the ladie's game tonight. my nephew is playing his first game for the London Knights in Barrie. anyone know a decent, quick and not too expensive place to eat near the arena?

never mind, answered my own question. what did we do before Google Maps?

Can't comment about the food, but there are a whack of "brand name" places in the Power Centre right at 400 & Mapleview; west side of 400 both on the north and south side of Mapleview (a hop skip and jump from the Arena). Swiss Chalet, East Side Mario's, Firkin (I think) and that ilk. I'm sure you can find something to fill your tummy.

No. It was a catch-phrase that a Carnie came up with to "attract" people to his booth. I think it was the fish pond, but memory is scarce.

I recalled that his prizes were were stuffed toy dogs from tiny ones to the really large ones. The first few years I saw him he was closer to the west end of the Ex right near the tiny tim donuts

i'm no curling expert, but why did the cdn skip put all of that garbage out front when she had a 2 shot lead? why not keep it clean and force them to 1 pt?

I don't know how his name came up in conversation, but we were just talking about David Bronstein here in the office.




You probably remember his "Dial A Date" infomercials of days gone by ("Confidential... one-on-one... DISCREET!"). Back in my days in the used CD shop on Yonge St., he came in with a business proposal for my boss. I was with a customer, but he waited patiently just off to the side. When I was done, he came up to me and said, in his Gilbert-Godfried-esuqe voice, "HELL-o... I'm DAVid BRONStein" My reply? "Why yes, of course you are".

He outlined his proposition to me briefly, and left his business card for the owner.
