Morning all
Well I don't have to worry about moving with the company downtown anymore, after 28 years with them they cut me loose yesterday. Got called to personnel and was told I was no longer needed as they were loosing money and needed to save so my position was terminated.
Don't feel bad for me, I am very happy this happened as now I have no worries about the job anymore. They have been cutting back for years now and every time I was taking a portion of the workload, I complained once but was told you don't like it leave.
Things really got bad for my department about 7 years ago when I was forced to terminate 15 of my staff over a 1 year period, then slowly over the years I watched as they let go 1 by 1 many of my colleagues. The last one was in January when they let go of a friend who had been there 31 years.
I got a severance package, haven't looked yet, will do so tomorrow with the wife, make decisions and move on with my life. I wanted out for some time but didn't want to pull roots as they say as I would have lost my package.
Besides now I can concentrate on winning at Derringers Cash Grab.

...wow...at the very least, you got a severance pkg, so that's something....sounds like the whole complexion of the original company has changed.....every time a person is let go, it truly does affect the energy of that workplace, and it's just not the same....
....well, onwards and upwards, cos looking back is only a history lesson as far as I can see..........we're here for support if you need us........TROrrabest, Orratime!!

A Smart Canuck Snow Follies Day, I declare to be in order,
We'll have as much fun here, as if we all went south of the border,
The guys can do the BBQ'ing cause all guys love doing that,
The ladies can stay inside by the fire & have a chitty-chat,
Hot apple cider available with a teensy splash of brandy,
We'll watch the Smart Canuck men outside they'll be our own eye candy,
We can listen for the words & up the volume to all the songs we love,
Simplistic relaxation at its best, is what I’m speaking of,
An afternoon of fun activities is what I am proposing,
You can just drop in or stay all day, cause no one is imposing,
A snowman building contest is an idea or maybe a snowball fight,
Just keep in mind you SC lads, the girls are on a winning plight,
It will be easy today to decide who man the Kissing Booth,
I propose that honour go to the first poster of the sleuth!!
