...poor little critter....the coyote was just doing his thing, tho.....nature can be so beautiful, yet so cruel....TR:-(

I was talking to a guy who lives right near by to the people who lost their pup to the coyote and he says he doubts the pup was on a leash. The owners always have the older dog on a leash but quite often not the pup because the pup would never venture far from the older dog like 10-12 feet. Like they say coyotes are an opportunistic scavenger and scoop up whatever they can.

I haven't heard of any relief efforts set up for Chile though. If I remember correctly Haiti was almost immediate. Any theories on why? Is the Chilean government better equipted to handle their disaster?

Chile is waaaay better equipped. Among the best in the world at urban search and rescue, which is not surprising given their seismic history. Ironically, they were among the first teams in Haiti. Total contrast between the two countries - ready, not ready; have, have not; well built, shoddy; lots of earthquakes, almost no history of earthquakes. The Haiti quake measured between 7.0 and 7.2, which is big, but the Chile quake measured 8.8 which is enormous (256 to 512 times more energy based on those figures).

Ya that was a disappointment to say the least. I was on the 401 and looking forward to a great driving tune. I guess Red Hot Mama by Funkadelic would have been a bit much to ask for.

Yea, I know its a game of chance but they should make it so everyone gets something - like at least $107 if you go bust. It really hurts to end up taking nothing at all when others get a bundle
