I'm not sure I like some of the changes they've made to the cash grab. Calling 3 people to make them sit by the phone for a possible call back in 10 minutes. Yes it guarantees that there's someone there. But I don't think they'd have a problem getting one person to stay by their phone if they were guaranteed of playing. The other 2 would experience a let-down.

It was a scammer saying I won a free $ 3200 trip... I told him about some land he may be interested in surrounded by water....... click!

I used to get calls ALL the time from some jerk trying to sell me duct-cleaning. It was always the same company, sometimes even the same guy. Each time they called, I told them I live in an apartment building, and to remove me from their list. Finally, I figured the only way to get off the list was to make an appointment, so I made one.

The guy came out to do an estimate, and he was none to pleased when he couldn't find the house, so he called, asking if he had the address correct. Yes, I told him, the address is correct, and, as I've told them several times, it's an apartment building. STOP CALLING! They called one more time, I made another appointment for an estimate, and the same thing happened. They stopped calling after that for some reason.

It may have worked out for Shaman, but what about the other people called? They are probably not SC'ers so we never heard what they thought about the process.

So, if you don't get called 10 or so minutes before the grab, your not getting a shot at the last minute.

I am bad to telephone solicitors, especially if I'm in a silly mood. Once when I guy called about duct-cleaning I pretended not to know what he was talking about. I said "I have no ducks. Do you clean chickens?" So he explained that he said ducts not ducks but I still kept asking him if he cleans chickens until he hung up.

That's correct. But last time around when Joanne called me she just asaid to stay by the phone that I'd be playing in 10 minutes then 2 minutes before she called made sure I understood the rules and put me on hold until after the introduction then it was game on.

That is CLASSIC!!!! I almost wish I had a home phone line so I could use that one!

Another favourite are people calling for newspaper subscriptions. I'd keep them going for a while, then ask if they can beat the price I get at thestar.com or canoe.ca, or if someone would come clean the newsprint off my fingers.
