I'm so sorry to hear that - cars, pipes and messes are much more easily fixed than what your wife must be feeling right now.

Welcome to my world. My vehicle has a dead battery and a flat tire. I'm recoverying from shoulder surgery ( 4 months) and my wife was let go from her job of 17 years running a real estate office (one of the largest in Canada) without warning and she won't pursue a wrongful dismissal suit even though she was given legal advise to pursue it. When she finally found a job (after 9 months) as a receptionist in her brother in-law's company she was let go after one day because they felt she could not handle it. We have since found out that she some kind of dementia problem, where for example, today she could not remember our home addres so she could write a return address on a letter.

Somehow I think your wife will be able to find a job if she really want's to go back to work. So I can empathize with you.

Geez, I'm sorry to both of you, all of that really sucks. And losing a job to lay offs is really bad, especially when the person has been doing a good job all along. I'm sorry for all this, sometimes life really throws us some crummy stuff!
