Hello everyone,
I am new here and live in the US, my best friend and family will be relocating to the St. Catharines area. I got her into couponing and now she is a little discouraged that she has to learn everything all over again up there. She is excited to be moving to her county but still learning all the coupon stuff again is a little head spinning for her. I thought of putting together a list of stores, their policies, etc for her as a gift. Can any of you help me out. She will be moving the middle of April. What are the best stores to shop at in that area? Can she print off of websites like coupons.com and still use the coupons? I know there is no doubling coupons up there but can you stack them, as in a store coupon and manufacture coupon? Anyone want to send me a Sunday paper from the area?
I can pay shipping.
I would just love to be able to help her out the best I can. Thank you all so much for whoever helps me out.
Wendy

Good morning, your friend will find that a lot of our policies are the same here, although the only store that allows for an overage here is Walmart. Sobey's will also give you the overage of a coupon towards your other basket purchases, but will not give you any cash back. The only stores currently in Canada that allow coupon stacking are in the western provinces and they are London Drugs, and Save-On-Foods. A person cannot use coupons in Canada that have an address in the USA for redemption, such as El Passo Tx. They must have a Canadian redemption address. This is one of the best sites to find out about couponing, and using coupons and finding deals. There are also other sites, but I find this one to be the most complete. We can use printable coupons, manufacturer coupons and in-store coupons. We do not have stores currently that provide Catalinas
, but hopefully one day. I might recomend that your friend download a copy of all the store coupon policies that she plans to shop at and keep them with her.
I coupion in the states a lot in the winters if I go south and there is really not a huge difference. We get less coupon inserts in our local paper, usually 2 a month, the we will get the P&G insert every 3 or 4 months, same as in USA. Our coupons typically have a higher dollar value than do yours, but our prices are sometimes higher as well.
Hope this helps you out, you can always send me a pm if you have any further questions. I have been using coupons for 20 + years and would be happy to help you.
We welcome your friend and her/his family to Canada, they will love it here, and Ontario is a great province. I have a sister that lives in St. Catherines, it's a great city.
Here are the current store coupon policies, hope this will help.
