It's all lovely but what really got me was the book...where on earth did you find it?? I just went through every page and came across some recipes that jolted some very lovely memories. When I was a little girl and my parents took me to work with them on weekends, there used to be a Jewish bakery nearby (long since closed) where I would always buy a piece of Khachapuri (of course I didn't know the name of it then, it was just cheesecake for me). I haven't eaten that in decades! I can't wait to make it. Then I came across the recipe for Bread & Butter Pudding. My dear sweet late FIL attempted to make these once for me. He was disappointed that they didn't turn out very well but I didn't know any better because it was the first (and last) time I ever tried it, lol. I haven't thought about the recipe since. It'll be a real treat for me to try to make these...I think FIL would approve :-) (although he always made fun of my cooking, lol). And finally, I'm going to make the Baking Powder Biscuits tomorrow night! FIL used to make stew for dh and siblings when they were children and his mother always made the biscuits to go along with it. I can't wait to surprise dh with it.
*sigh* It's so much more than a recipe book...thank you so much, Trish :sweet:.
