OK I have a question that is completely unrelated to this train but since you all seem like such clever ladies, I figured one of you might know the answer.

At Shoppers Drug Mart do they calculate your Optimum points before or after coupons AND on their weekend "get 18500 optimum points when you spend $75" or "$10 SDM card when you spend $50" is that after coupons or before? The reason i ask is that i have a ton of FPC's i was hoping to redeem and if they use the total of products before these I would be one happy girl, if not...bummer. Anyone know the answer?

yellow.. don't use FPC's on those days. you dont' get points for those. the points are calculated before coupons. as long as you give them your SDM points card before you start your transaction to swipe it will always work out.. that way you can bring your $75 down to nothing if you can with coupons. even if the cashier says uh uh. you say its ok im good.. it always works out.

It's not vital to give them the card at the start. I just went this morning and almost forgot to give them my card at all. Luckily it fell out of my wallet right before I paid. OOP was only $68 with coupons. I did the P&G bonus points too! Total for the transactiont was 21000 plus 1700 for buying a giftcard with my Optimum mastercard. I also pay off my optimum card with my Canadian tire Credit card so that's about another .70 in CT money. Best of all, a lot of the stuff was for my Mom so no cost to me!!

mailing mine out on Monday could not get to the post office in time...... my flower shop was busy with administrative assistants week! Lots of flowers went out the door to lots of lucky secretaries!

NEVER use FPC's at SDM for bonus points days!!!

FPC's are rung in as 2002 code which gives you no points

And it really doesn't matter what order you do your transaction in

I always buy a GC the day before for the amount I am going to spend. Extra BP's go along way

1. Scan Card
2. Scan Products
3. Give Coupons

Never have I ever paid the $50 or $75 they suggest and I have always always received the points or the GC promo

Its amazing how many cashiers will inform you that you won't get your points and I always ignore it until they hand me my receipt and then I point out that in fact I did as coupons are considered payment

If your going to use FPC's the only good time to use them at SDM is on mega redemption days
