So mad at co-workers right now! Clean up!!

So I have to get this off my chest!! I am a truck driver in the oil patch. It is currently a slower season for us, especially on Saturdays and Sundays. At out shop there are about 40 drivers, all of whom use one shop for maintenance and as a change room and washrooms. Since it is a beautiful day, I figured is I had some standby time ( wait at the shop until your next job calls in) it would be a good day for the shop, break room and washroom to be cleaned. We are all supposed to help out and grab a broom or a mop if your truck is ready to go. I just got back to the shop, and there are 6 guys sitting up in the break room, telling stories and drinking coffee!!!!!
I can't even be up there with Them as I know that there is so much that could get done, especially since there are so many of us waiting!!

I know that I am probably just over reacting, but I clean up my own messes, and since we are all adults, I just wish that they would take some initiative to clean up after themselves!!!!

oh man, i know what you mean.
I work retail and everyone always complains that the customers destroy the store...
when really you should see the staff room.
DISGUSTING..
people leave their plates in the sink, they spill stuff in the microwave and dont clean it up, they drop food on the floor, the fridge is disgustingly dirty with spills and junk everywehre.
AND if we didnt assign someone to tidy up the staff room each night, it would looks disgusting all the time!
No one ''thinks'' to empty the garbages because their overflowing or stinky, they just keep piling garbage up!

I think most of us have been through similar things. I get really frustrated when I wash the hardwood floor on my hands and knees, and an hour later my dh comes home and strolls across the floor from one end to the other with his shoes on, grabs something from the bedroom and then say I'll be home in a bit??? ????????? What??????? Not saying ladies are any better, but it seems whenever you go into a warehouse where a bunch of guys work or sit to eat, you have filthy bathrooms, garbage overflowing and dirty dishes everywhere. Not sure if they feel entitled or it's a momma's boy thing, but we can't get away from it, no matter where we go, or what profession we are in. In the staffroom at school, some of the teachers would heat up food and eat it, then leave their silverware, glasses and dishes laying around. We finally made a schedule and every one of us teachers had a week of chores. that fixed it there, but it sounds like in your situation that won't really work as sometimes people are never around and other times they are there for a long time. As long as you know that you have cleaned up after yourself, that's about all you can do...and rant here, lol I hope you have a better day tomorrow.
