Also this news story:
TORONTO, ON (CP): A Judge in Toronto shocked an entire courtroom this week and probably made legal history as he presided over a Child Custody case involving a 5 year old Toronto boy.
Landmark Ruling in Child Custody Case
The judge originally ruled that the child should be placed in the care of his mother. The five year old shocked the Judge and the courtroom when he cried out that he could not be placed with his mother beats him regularly. The judge then reconsidered his decision and awarded custody to the child's aunt. Again the boy protested saying that his aunt was abusing him constatnly as well. The judge recessed for fifteen minutes, then returned and declared the boy's grandparents as being the only ones suitable for his care. The boy again informed the court that they too beat him on a regular basis.
Totally frustrated at this point, the judge made the unprecentented move in deciding that since there was apparantly no one in the boys family that was not involved in domestic violence, that he would allow the boy to declare who he thought would be best to care for him.
Again court recessed, this time for 30 minutes, to allow the lawyers to consult with child welfare people and come to a decision with the boy about who should have custody of him.
Following the break, it was finally decided that the boy be placed in the care of the Toronto Maple Leafs, as the judge rightfully decided that they are not capable of beating anyone!Missing my Best Friend since 1971. RIP Lynda (1947-2012)

At least the Blue Jays are doing good in the pre-season. It's something sports-related to look forward to anyways

I have lived in Toronto for 27 of my 29 years of life. I gave up on the Leafs when I was about 10. I suggest everyone else do the same. When it comes to hockey teams, I've been disappointment free for 19 years!

you said "when" the Leafs win the cup... But they won't, so I don't need to bother thinking about it. The team is the richest in the league and fans pay out the nose to give them that privilege. Now that Rogers and Bell are the owners, they have no reason to win, it's all about TV rights.

LOL ... I love the fact that they never make it to the playoffs. Every year my hubby and I make a bet - he says they'll make the playoffs and I say they won't. I've won every year since we starting betting! Got me breakfast in bed on Sundays for an entire year a few years back! Oh, how I love the fact that the lose so bad!!
