We don't have Easter Sunday til next week (our church went with the old calendar this year.... gah!), and we'll be doing the traditional Ukrainian Easter foods as usual. Odd, when I try to change things up, it's not readily accepted by my son and husband (even if it's only a side dish), so I guess it's a good thing to stick with the tried, true, and yummy!
Are you hosting a meal? Just your family, or extended family/friends? Or, if you are going elsewhere, are you taking something along to share?

Since my mom died, we do a potluck. One of the siblings hosts and the host does the turkey or ham and usually the potatoes. The rest of us divvy up everything else like salad, vegetables, buns, drinks, deserts etc. So it's always a surprise what's for supper til you arrive!

We decided to do it a bit different this year, as I usually do a turkey/chicken, ham, meatballs, perogies, cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, gravy and a ton of desserts.
This year hubs BBQed a ham, and we had meatballs, mashed potatoes, corn, perogies, buns, dressing with chocolate cake, strawberry & rhubarb pie, and pumpkin cheesecake.

We're having Easter supper on Sunday. I'm making turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, peas and sweet potatoes. I already made the buns, carnberry sauce and pies yesterday (an apple and a pecan). I will be serving it with my pickled beets and a couple of salads (marinated vegetable and a jello-based one). No one is coming over to eat, but I won't have to cook for a few days, so there is a method to my madness.

Ours was on Sat, DS #1 was here too ( Mom blushes, gushes ), as well as my sister, and since we did not do turkey at Christmas we were all in the mood for a bird. He was a respectable 17 lbs, and did his skin ever crisp up nice! The dressing was 100% home made ( no boxes of Stove Top or like that) and DH did his gravy magic!! ( he makes it better than me, so I bow out )
The veggie sides were all naked!! (no salt, no butter out of respect for DD's diet) so we had mashed potatoes, green beans, carrots, savoy cabbage with sliced red peppers and sprinkled with toasted almonds. The only thing was the sweet potatoes, we did them up right ( with maple syrup) as DD does not care for them anyway.
At first I felt badly about not throwing a fresh salad on the table, but we all had plenty, no one would have had room for a salad.
