I bought 10 boxes of Olymel Nuggets yesterday from Metro as they were on sale for $4.99 and I have a $2.50 coupon making each box $2.49 only.
Just now I was getting them ready to put in the oven and ... they are all freezer burnt! Atleast all the nuggets in this one box. I have yet to check the others. If I pull the bags out of the boxes to check the others they won't go back in the box properly and therefore my whole freezer organization won't work - things need to be boxed shape/flat to stack other things on.
So I look on the box for a number to call because I'll just call and let them know tomorrow. Easy peasy. Except there is no phone number on the box. Now I'm thinking, hmm I wonder if there is an expiry date, check the box ... no expiry date. Seriously? There is a website though.
I log onto the website, click contact us ... and its a long distance number to Quebec! I'm in Ontario. What big company doesn't have a toll free number? Oi.
So tomorrow I will need to use my phone card in order to call to them to complain that a) my nuggets were freezer burnt, b) there is no expiry date on their packages and lastly c) they should have a toll free number as I don't feel I should have to pay to call them to complain about their product.
I usually buy the chunkies and LOVE them but never had a problem with any boxes despite buying atleast 15 in the past. I only bought these because they were on sale and we couldn't wait until chunkies went on again.
Am I unjust in feeling this way? This thread is currently associated with: MetroLast edited by PurpleBunny89; Sun, Apr 8th, 2012 at 12:30 PM.

I would call Metro and let them know. Your other boxes could be freezer burnt as well so i would ask them if they have new stock you could exchange them for.

You should be contacting the store, not the company at this point. Perhaps they were thawed slightly then refrozen.
