My receipts were a big mess. Now have an MIR question

Has anyone ever sent in an MIR receipt that had other items on the receipt that were refunded? I will not be returning the Finish, just some bodywash.

Backstory: I did 2x transactions for 20x the points at 2 different SDMs. At both SDMs I was overcharged for bodywash I did not buy. It was ridiculous. I ended up getting $13 in overcharges over both places!!

They went crazy refunding absolutely everything instead of voiding the transaction. It was totally unnecessary. Why not just refund those extra items I didn't want?!?!! Anyway the second time around, I went to the shelf and just took the extra items that I had already paid for and left because I didn't want a repeat of the first mess and there was a long line even at 9 p.m.

Now I want to return these items that I never wanted in the first place. I will still be over the $50 threshold for 20x the points but am wondering if a scribbled up receipt with "refund" written all over it will affect my Finish MIR. Should I tell the refunding cashier to be careful when she writes "return" on the receipt? I have never refunded anything at SDM before so I don't know how their procedure works. And I am for sure going to a different location to return the unwanted ones because I bought them with hubby and the car. I will be on foot

Last time I bought two Physician Formula because I didn't know that MIR need to be in two separate receipt, the lady that help me at the cosmetic counter didn't write anything on my receipt. She give me a new receipt. You can ask if they can print a new receipt?

You should have your original receipt & they do another refund receipt that you sign & they give you a copy so I think you should be ok...

@couponsbaby I will be returning it to a different location (I would need a car to go back to the original one, and I don't have one), so doubt they could print a new receipt for me.

They should just write on the item returned.
Really with the new system they don't need to write on it at all because they are able to tell
what has been returned when the scan it.

I have done a MIR with a return on the receipt - I was actually over charged and they did a refund/repurchase but my
bill looked like it was returned. It may of even been for Finish.

Thanks very much for this! I will ask them not to write on it at all. I couldn't believe the same thing happened at two different stores.
