Warning!!!! Point levels going up June 5!!!!

I`ll believe it when it`s announced.... Between the lawsuit, the RBC advertising, the random date and it not being mentioned on the website/facebook, I find it very surprising that someone that works there would already have a heads up... Especially seems we normally know simple things like the weekly specials before some of them LOL. Also find it surprising that they would suggest you spend all your points when June is still WEEKS away... Lots of time to earn AND redeem perhaps for a Mega Weekend.

Hmmm, will see what happens...haven't been shopping there much at all lately, lol

LOL, I agree, we seem to know more about what goes on before the employees. I was actually chatting with the store manager today at my local store and he said the same thing....too bad I didn't know about this issue before I went today I could have asked him about it....

I think I would hold onto my points for a mega redemption instead of blowing them before the changes.

If the redemption levels do change, then Mr Koolaid is a genius for redeeming your points last week-end for the great flat-screen TV!

well they seem to do it with every points cards promotion. Stouffers just did there

well they have already denied it on facebook like i mentioned above.

i just thought of something, wouldn't it be funny if there was some special points even planned for june 5 and this cashier found out about it somehow (i know, not likely) and she didn't know how to explain it and made it sound like something bad instead.

now that would be something to look forward to, lol! :)

Like so many have said, this would be a highly questionable move, given the lawsuit that centres around this very issue. It would be akin to SDM saying, "we don't care about your existing concerns; and just to prove it, we're going to do the same thing, because we can!"

Maybe the cashier was misinformed, or somehow misinterpreted something she heard?

Thank you for the heads up, though - you never know, I suppose.

I received the booklet today for the new RBC/SDM account...they spent A LOT of money on those things.....

There's a booklet? I signed up for the account but didn't get a booklet, or anything actually.

i agree with anne and carlyincanada-havent done a redemption there at all this year-or 20 times the points for that matter-i would rather shop walmart to price match fruit vegggies and zellers for the points while they are still here

they are probably doing this because they are offering so many more ways to earn points, such as their bank card..has anyone got their bank card and what are their thoughts on it - im thinking about getting it but i want to know if its really worth it-please PM what you think

I was with you... so I phoned the 1-800-SHOPPERS number and the girl said they have no information about points changing and specifically said they raised them last year and gave lots of notice.

I googled the lawsuit and am reading all about it now! The way the courts work, I should be 90 by the time it settles! *LOL* **EDIT** Nevermind, the lawsuit is only good in Quebec!

So points are NOT going up!!! The way we discuss cashiers at SDM around here, makes me wonder how you could believe a cashier over something that would be posted and/or sent out to card holders!!! In future, remember..

i sure hope this was wrong bc if so then im def going to stop shopping there except for very good sale priced items
